Wow is all I can say about this. And why the hell can't I write like this? I sincerely recommend you read this and, even better, get hold of a copy of Alice herself reading it; it truly is awe-inspiring. The detail, the feeling, the originality of a poem written in the voices of people she met along the river, but all 'the river's mutterings'.
